Conclusions
Below we shall summarize our conclusions:
Using constants L' and C' | ||
Value | Percent error | |
Speed of Light | 2.6 x 108 m/s | 13.3 % |
Cable Impedance | 57.7 ohms | 7.8% |
Experimental method | ||
Value | Percent error | |
Speed of Light | 2.88 x 108 m/s | 4 % |
Cable Impedance | 55.4 ohms | 3.4% |
As the previous tables show, we achieved a higher level of accuracy in measuring the speed of light and the cable's impedance by using circuits and the oscilloscope . Deriving these values from measurements of the dialectric and conductor radii were much less accurate. As stated earlier, this inaccuracy can be attributed to difficulty in measuring the lengths with only a caliper.
