Welcome to the Homepage for The Southeastern Section of the American Physical Society. The objective of the Section is the advancement and diffusion of knowledge of physics within the Southeastern region of the United States, including the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The Section brings together physicists once a year for a November meeting. Graduate and undergraduate students are always welcome at and are encouraged to attend this meeting. Information about the Section can be found below.
A new web site, the Katrina Affected Physics and Astronomy Bulletin Board has been created under the auspices of the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Institute of Physics, and APS. It allows for efficient exchange of information between those in the physics community who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina, and those who have some assistance to offer. It also provides links to other sites where assistance is available. Click here to go to the Katrina Affected Physics and Astronomy Bulletin Board.
