13th Annual Spring Meeting
North Carolina Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers
Joint with the Zone 5 SPS Meeting

April 4-5, 2008

Contributed papers on all physics teaching topics are encouraged (faculty and graduate students; see below for undergraduate poster session).  Papers are 15 minutes in length including three minutes for questions. Our main lecture room has an overhead projector; slide projector; DVD player; CD player; and laserdisc player, Windows computer with internet access (wired and wireless), external computer connection with internet access for PC laptops (Macintosh users please bring your external video display adapter), and document camera all connected to an LCD projector. DEADLINE: March 28. 

 

Please send abstracts to Larry Cain (lacain@davidson.edu) in Word, WordPerfect or ASCII text format. Please include NCS-AAPT Abstract on the subject line.  Otherwise mail to: Department of Physics, Davidson College, PO Box 1719, Davidson, NC 28036.

Zone 5 Society of Physics Students Meeting:  In conjunction with the NCS-AAPT meeting we are holding an SPS student research poster session Saturday morning April 5.  During this hour-long poster session there will be no other sessions and refreshments will be served.  Undergraduate and high school students who submit their poster abstracts by the March 28, 2008 deadline will receive free registration and a free lunch Saturday (support from National SPS).  Students participating in the poster session are eligible for the Best Undergraduate Paper Award, given jointly with SPS and NCS-AAPT.  Other events for students will be held in conjunction with the Davidson Chapter of SPS.
