To set up a Diode-Inductance circuit that is driven by an oscillating power source. To observe and understand the period doubling and chaotic behavior that results in the voltage output when a single parameter of the input is varied. Finally, to realize that though chaotic behavior is unpredictable, it is an intrinsic part of some simple non-linear deterministic systems and not a result of external forces.
