Davidson College

Laura Cupples

Class of 2002

I am currently a junior physics major at Davidson College in Davidson, NC.  For the last two summers, I have worked here in the department.  In 1999 I worked with doctors Christian and Belloni editing script for web based educational physics applets called Physlets.   Last summer, I worked with Dr Gfroerer and Emmett Weindruch, a senior major here at Davidson, researching the radiative efficiency of InGaAs and InAsP semiconductors.  You can find out more about Dr Gfroerer's research at his site by following the faculty link on the department homepage.

Intermediate Laboratory (this section is under construction - as a matter of fact the page you're on now is under construction too - thanks for your patience)

If you would like to find out more about the Davidson College Physics department, you can visit the department site at www.phy.davidson.edu.

And when I'm not in the lab?  Well, this semester I never seem to leave the building (grr) - but I've been working for a little over a year with a mentoring program through Grace Covenant Church in Charlotte (Faith, Hope & Love is awesome!  Hi Karen!!).  As you can tell I absolutely love it.  Otherwise, I'm hanging out with a crowd of crazy theatre majors (plus a few of us hangers on - historians, sax players and Shakespeare buffs) or the former residents of 2nd West Belk (hooray for the upper west side!).
