Eigenvalue Applet Beta Version 0.9: Kronig-Penney Model
The Kronig-Penney model in quantum mechanics simulates several potential wells strung together. In the case above we have three wells. The wells are symmetric so the observed energy levels are as well. The potential being graphed here is sign(sin(pi*x-pi/2))*200. One of the neat features of this potential are the resulting energy bands. These are the energy levels that occur in groups or bands.
