Conclusions

 

1. Students are quick to give answers that are superficially reasonable (but wrong!).

2. Simulations with real-time graphical representation can help students go beyond this approach by facilitating connections with more familiar fundamental concepts.

3. These connections provide a deeper understanding of the physical phenomena, which can then be treated with more sophisticated mathematics.
